I know how to embroider so I thought I could figure it all out on my own, and maybe I could have—after a decade of trial and error, tears, failures and some not-so-pretty final products. I learned so much from this book! Not just best practices and order of operation (instead of winging it!), but how to stay organized during a project (where has that been all my life?!), tips and reassurance about how to make it all come together. I bought the ebook and I’m considering buying the hard copy just to have on hand because it is such a great resource. Level up—buy the book!

This book feels like a love letter to embroidery and to the reader. Theresa drew on her knowledge and experience, and compiled a masterclass in book form. Beginners can use this book to learn where to start, and experienced artists can use this book to level up their skills. The attention to detail is unmatched. The advice is honest and heartfelt. The photography is incredible. The options for customization are limitless. I am forever grateful for the joy this book has brought me (and my loved ones), and what it has helped me accomplish.

This book has pretty much everything you need to design and stitch a house portrait. It is mostly aspirational for me, since my skills are not quite there yet for the stitching parts, but I read through the whole thing anyway and it really is quite detailed at every step. It is an excellent resource if you are leaning this way or want to see the process. The technique catalog alone can be used for other projects as well. My only negative critique, and it is not enough to knock off a star for me anyway, is that there are 2 or 3 pages where the text is printed over an image background (some fabric) and the contrast/font/background makes it a bit more difficult to read, but these pages are not crucial nor are they impossible to read, maybe make sure you have enough light.
